WHAT IS THE EMPLOYEE ASSISTANCE PROGRAM?
The Employee Assistance Program (EAP) is a short-term counselling and advisory service for all NT Government Employees to seek professional assistance for any personal or work related problems.
It is easily accessible, free and confidential. We are highly qualified and experienced in providing these services.
WHO CAN USE THE SERVICE?
All Northern Territory Government Employees + dependent family members
NT Police, Fire and Emergency Service Employees, Volunteers + dependent family members.
City of Palmerston workers + dependent family members
IS IT CONFIDENTIAL?
Your personal sensitive information remains with Industry Health Solutions and the Psychologist will NOT discuss your details with anyone unless you authorise them to do so in writing, or if required by law.

A Darwin born organisation, we have over 15 years local experience.
IHS is an approved EAP provider for NT Government + NT Police Fire & Emergency Services and City of Palmerston, we can provide psychological services at no cost to eligible employees, NTPFES volunteers and their dependent family members.
A founding member of PainNT, we are committed to providing access to gold standard pain management services where Territorians live.

We aim to reduce any preconceptions or anxiety you may have right from your first contact with us. We also aim to reduce any stigma or "clinicky" vibes. Our office is relaxed, warm and welcoming. You'll never know if the person sitting beside you is visiting us for a physical or psychological condition.

MY STORY
Kate Shepherd- Director Industry Health Solutions
I'm Kate, the founder and director of Industry Health Solutions. It's been a fantastic journey since I graduated as an Occupational Therapist over 17 years ago and started my career in regional Queensland to running a private practice in the NT.
It was 15 years ago when I arrived in Darwin- I still remember walking out of the airport at 9pm during the dry season and thinking “wow– this is hot”…. and I was from North Queensland! Like a lot of Darwinite’s, I came for a year and never left.
Industry Health Solutions was born 11 years ago. From a business that started at my kitchen table we steadily grew to a multidisciplinary organisation that employs occupational therapists, psychologists, exercise physiologists, registered nurses and employment specialists. At IHS we believe that NONE OF US ARE AS GOOD AS ALL OF US and our interdisciplinary approach is our magic sauce.
Our organisational values are openness, collaboration and service with sincerity and integrity. We care- absolutely.
I work with clients with chronic pain, complex physical and/ or psychological conditions. I believe work is a key determinant of health and have always had a keen interest in reducing the impact of long term work absence, work disability and unemployment on client’s health.
I am able to provide expert consultancy services across workers compensation schemes, complex employment assistance to employers, return to work, ergonomics, psychological conditions and chronic pain management services.
When I’m not doing what I love at work, I like to spend time with my family and I like to grow edible stuff in the garden.
