WHAT IS THE EMPLOYEE ASSISTANCE PROGRAM?
The Employee Assistance Program (EAP) is a short-term counselling and advisory service for all NT Police Fire and Emergency Service members to seek professional assistance for any personal or work related problems.
The NT government has approved Industry Health Solutions to provide professional psychological support services.
This benefit has been designed to help improve your wellbeing and function at home and within the workplace.
It is easily accessible, free and confidential. We are highly qualified and experienced in providing these services.
WHO CAN USE THE SERVICE?
All NT Police, Fire and Emergency Service Employees, Volunteers and their dependent family members can access 6 free sessions.
In some cases the number of sessions for NTPFES employees may be extended on application.
WHEN SHOULD I USE THE EAP?
This service should be used to help resolve any problems or issues that may be causing you or your family concern. This can include:
Intrusive thoughts or images, flashbacks, nightmares, intense distress at reminders of trauma, physical symptoms like pain, sweating, trembling or nausea
Bullying and harrassment support
Workplace issues and challenges
Stress and anxiety
Feelings of low mood and loss of enjoyment
Relationship and family difficulties
Interpersonal conflict,
Alcohol and drug issues
Gambling worries
Grief and loss
Financial or legal pressures
Health and wellbeing concerns
IS IT CONFIDENTIAL?
Your personal sensitive information remains with Industry Health Solutions and the Psychologist will NOT discuss your details with anyone unless you authorise them to do so in writing, or if required by law.
In the case of any workplace issue, you may authorise your Psychologist to discuss the matter with another person you nominate to help address the situation.
